How to add your UPI ID

Last updated September 3, 2026

Your UPI ID is the address money is sent to. It looks like a name, an @, and a handle: priya@okhdfc, 9876543210@ybl, shop@paytm.

It goes in Settings, under Payments. Type it exactly as your bank app shows it.

Finding yours

You almost certainly already have one. It is a question of where the app put it.

  • Google Pay. Tap your profile picture, then settings. It is listed under your UPI IDs.
  • PhonePe. Home screen, under your name, then UPI settings.
  • Paytm. Inside UPI settings, under the payment section.
  • A bank app. Usually called UPI ID or VPA, with the UPI settings.

You can have several at once. They all reach the same account, so any of them works here.

What Kulhad does with it

It writes it into the QR code and into the payment link on your page. That is the whole of it. Kulhad cannot see your balance, cannot see your transactions, and cannot move money in or out.

If you type it wrong

Nothing warns you, because nothing outside your own bank can tell whether a UPI ID is real. A wrong ID either fails when somebody tries to pay, or pays a stranger who happens to own it.

This is why the next step exists. Before you share the page, send yourself one rupee and check it arrives.

More than one

Free pages hold one UPI ID. Premium holds several, which helps if you keep a personal ID and a shop ID apart, or if one bank app is having a bad day. See More than one UPI ID.
